Course Info

  • This is the complete courses that are necessary to obtain the State of New York unarmed security guard license, which will allow you to work as an Unarmed Security Guard.
  • Students that complete this course, do so completing the Pre-Assignment and the 16 Hours OTJ training to complete their license requirements.
  • The State of New York also requires that all unarmed security guards renew their license every year by completing the Annual In-Service training course.

State Requirements

  • The State of New York mandates that applicants for security licenses must be at least 18 years of age, have no disqualifying criminal history, and be legally allowed to work in the United States.
  • A Licensing Fee must be paid directly to the State of New York. This fee is not included in the course price.

    I was wondering if I can schedule a class with a felony an if not how can I go about getting a job with is type of security services

Having a felony on your criminal background could definitely affect your ability to get licensed as a Security Guard in the State of New York. You should contact the New York Division of Criminal Justice Services, http://www.criminaljustice.ny.gov/ , to discuss your ability to attain a Security Guard license in New York State.
