45 Hour Course

Course Info

  • This is the required security officer training class that provides the firearms training necessary to work legally as an armed security officer in Texas.
  • Upon completion of the Level III course and submission of application, the State of Texas will issue the armed security officer license within four weeks.
  • Students that obtain their Level III License must complete a 6 hour renewal course within a two year period, from the date of licensing, to maintain their license in good standing with the State.
  • Students are responsible for a $25.00 gun range fee that includes the range access, training weapon, ammunition & targets.

State Requirements

  • The State of Texas mandates that applicants for Level II security licenses must be at least 18 years of age, 21 for Level III, have no disqualifying criminal history, and be legally allowed to work in the United States.
  • A Licensing Fee must be paid directly to the state of Texas. This fee is not included in the course price.
  • Students must complete the Level II course in order to receive the Level III armed security officer license.
