If you’ve thought about building a career in Louisiana that integrates you as part of the community or maybe you need a flexible and fulfilling part-time job that gets you from gig to gig, getting a security guard license is the path for you.

Louisiana has standards for what it takes to be in the security industry and get your security license. Let us simplify the process and make it easier for you to navigate.

If you’re serious about getting your Louisiana security license, make sure you know these basic requirements:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be a citizen of the United States.
• Has not been convicted in any jurisdiction pf any felony or crime involving moral turpitude, or illegal use or possession of a dangerous weapon for any of which a full pardon or similar relief has not been granted under laws of the United States, the state of Louisiana, or any other state or country.
• Submit to background check.
• Completion of mandatory training requirements.

A Louisiana Security Guard must receive 2 – 8 hour classroom training from a Louisiana state licensed instructor. The 1st eight hours is due 30 days from the date of hire and the 2nd eight hours is due 60 days from the date of hire.
Louisiana has several training requirements that must be completed prior to getting your security license, and that’s 16 hours of training in the following:

• Legal powers and limitations of a Security Officer.
• Emergency procedures.
• Orientation to Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:3270 through 3298 and board’s rules and regulations.
• General duties, field notes and reports writing.

Please note that we offer classes in any extra security training you need (for example we have certification instructors for stun guns, mace, and the nightstick). Louisiana is a great place to start your career and the first steps are your security guard license and security guard training.
